Use Import your own list when you already know which healthcare professionals you want to reach. This path creates an Audience from your own CSV instead of building rules inside Wrango.

What you can import

The current import flow accepts:
  • A .csv file.
  • A file up to 500 MB.
  • A file that includes an NPI column.
Wrango only uses the NPI column during import. Additional columns are not used by the system. The current parser accepts common NPI header variations, including:
  • npi
  • npis
  • npi id
  • npi number
  • national provider identifier

Import flow

1

Start from Create Audience

In the Audiences dashboard, click Create Audience, then choose Import your own list and Begin upload.
2

Add audience details

Complete Audience details first. This step saves the draft Audience with its name, description, and Workspace tags.
3

Upload your CSV

Move to Upload CSV and upload the file. Wrango validates the file, extracts NPIs, and shows the cleaned list before you continue.
4

Check the preview

Continue to Preview Audience. Wrango generates a preview from the uploaded NPIs and shows the resulting audience before submission.
5

Review and process

In Review, confirm the audience summary and import counts, then click Finish & process.

Validation and file checks

The import step checks the file before you can continue.
  • The file must be a CSV.
  • The file must include an NPI column.
  • The file can be up to 500 MB.
  • The imported list must include at least 1,500 NPIs.
  • The imported list can include up to 500,000 NPIs.
  • Duplicate, empty, or invalid NPIs are ignored during extraction.
If the upload fails validation, update the file and upload it again.

Field mapping

The current import flow does not expose a manual field-mapping screen. Wrango automatically detects the NPI column and creates a cleaned import file from those values only.

After a successful import

After you click Finish & process:
  • Wrango submits the Audience for processing.
  • The success dialog offers Return to audience dashboard.
  • The imported Audience appears in the Audiences dashboard.
  • Its status moves into processing, then later becomes ready or shows an error if processing fails.
The dashboard will show the imported Audience as Type = Import.
